Non Profit Money
2000

is a selection of banknotes, with certain symbols or sentences changed or added.

I wanted to refer on ideas of 70th and ’80th movements for establishing a fair trade with underprivileged countries and creating a market for ecological goods.

"Non Profit Money" was created for the exhibition "Artist Banknotes" at the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Weddel, Germany, whose director Bernd Löbach was himself an activist of the environmental movement of the 1970th. He was a co-designer of the so-called blue angel, since 1977 a rating for ecological goods in Germany.

The aim is to create a currency with negative interests, in order to get rid of the speculative money market and empower the trading with goods.
