Elevator Bar
2006

Today’s poorest are not prepared for a life without any means. Barter economy is not a livelihood anymore. Needed skills for such economy are not any longer imparted nor taught at school. Meanwhile self designed micro businesses are flowering in economical niches: cleaning windows or any kind of entertainment for car drivers at traffic lights; resale of used tickets; collecting bottles with refundable deposit; and so on.

During my residency at Pilotprojekt Gropiusstadt www.pilotprojekt-gropiusstadt.de
I designed an elevator bar as micro job – fast drinks on a maximum 22 levels ride. I constructed the table with material I found. I clamped the table on the handrail. I served grappa.
